Day 1Cusco - Paucartambo - Atalaya -Treehouse INN

Our 6 Day Manu National Park Tour will begin early in the morning. We will pick you up in Cusco between 4:00 and 4:30 am. We will set off from Cusco, heading southeast towards the charming town of Paucartambo. It is a journey of approximately 110 kilometers (68 miles). The road will wind through scenic valleys. It will be offering stunning views of the Andean highlands as we make our way deeper into the Peruvian Amazon.

In Paucartambo, we will stop for breakfast, where you can enjoy a meal made from fresh Andean ingredients. This historic town is known for its colorful festivals and traditional architecture. It will be our first taste of the cultural richness that lies along the route.

After breakfast, we will continue our ascent towards the Acjanaco Pass. It sits at an altitude of 3,500 meters (11,483 feet). From this vantage point, we will witness one of Peru’s most captivating natural spectacles: the sunrise over the Amazon basin. On the second day of our 6 Day Manu National Park Tour, we will wake up early at 5:00 am. We will get ready to immerse ourselves deeper into the heart of the Amazon. We will start the day with a light breakfast on the boat. A four-hour journey downstream will take us toward the confluence of the Madre de Dios and Manu rivers.

After settling into our accommodations, we will have some time to relax and explore the lodge’s surroundings before dinner. The evening will be filled with the sounds of the jungle as night falls, and the forest comes alive with nocturnal creatures. Day 3 Exploring Salvador Lake and Jungle Mysteries

On the third day of our 6 Day Manu National Park Tour, we will rise early, ready to explore the untouched beauty of Salvador Lake, one of the most pristine oxbow lakes in the Manu National Park. After a hearty breakfast at CASA MATSIGUENKA, we will set out on foot through the dense jungle trails, making our way toward the lake. The trail, filled with the sounds of the rainforest, will offer glimpses of colorful butterflies, darting lizards, and a variety of bird species.

We may encounter bats swooping through the night sky, snakes coiled silently on branches, and the glowing eyes of small mammals foraging in the underbrush. The fourth day of our Manu National Park tour will be filled with excitement and discovery, as we explore the rich biodiversity that only reveals itself after dark.

Day 5Parrot Clay Lick - Highlight of Manu Jungle Trip

On the fifth day of our 6 Day Manu National Park Tour, we will wake up before dawn, ready to witness one of the Amazon’s most vibrant spectacles: the parrot clay lick. Day 6Return to Cusco

After breakfast, we will board our boat for the return journey down the Palotoa and Madre de Dios rivers. As we glide through the water, we may see herons fishing, capybaras grazing, and perhaps even a final glimpse of the playful river otters.
